Men's retail clothing represents a market segment with sales of over $8.8 Billion in 2015. That is a decrease from its peak during the 1990's when annual sales generally topped $10 Billion each year. It hit a trough in 2009 and 2010 at the depths of the recession, but has been steadily climbing since then.

Surprisingly, even though you often see South Florida men in very, very casual attire, there is an increasing movement to pay attention to men's fashion trends. A new study from a survey of business men and women say "a good suit can make the man look wealthier, smarter, nicer and definitely more successful".

While most will automatically jump to the conclusion that the only place to buy a nice suit and get it tailored to fit is a major department store - the statistics show a surprising movement toward men's specialty retail clothing stores - with a 20% increase in patronage. The trend seems to be based on a desire for a more personalized shopping environment, more specialized customer service, and more focused brands.

Today's program is about the men's retail clothing industry and one entrepreneur's journey from diesel mechanic to owner of a Wellington men's fashion store.
